Life-saving skills for the motorcycle community

Following a chance meeting, the Dorset Doctor Bike project took shape in the form of a two-man team working to bring life-saving skills to the Dorset motorcycle community. PC Chris Smith, from Dorset Police BikeSafe, and Dr Ian Mew, an Intensive Care and Air Ambulance Doctor working across Dorset, started the project with the delivery of life saving skills to local riders through Biker Down courses (an interactive trauma aid skills session) at BikeSafe events across Dorset. Not happy to just to teach these skills to riders of all ages and experience levels, Dr Ian wanted to take them to the roadside and so Dorset Doc Bike was born. [more]
