Support that makes DocBike possible
The team at DocBike are immensely proud and grateful for the support they have received, and continue to receive from a growing number of businesses and organisations. It is only with this generous and ongoing support that DocBike can continue on their mission to eradicate motorcycle deaths and reduce bike related serious injuries.
Dorset Police covers approximately 1024 Square miles of land and a similar body of water off the coastline. Dorset is one of a very few to not have a motorway to patrol, but does have three very busy main roads and over 3332 miles of roads to police. Annually Dorset Police provides a policing coverage for around 0.8 million residents, which increases during term time with students from the universities and colleges. A further 11 million people visitors come to Dorset each year for short breaks or holidays.
Dorset Police welcome many thousands of bikers every Tuesday night between April and September to Poole Quay Dream Machines. This is run in partnership with Poole Tourism (Dream Machines Website) and a dedicated team of volunteer marshals. We always have motorcycle officers on duty at the Quay (and often at other venues) in support of the marshals and are happy to deal with any enquires. If you see us come up and ask about BikeSafe and biking – you’ll find we know what we are talking about. [more]

Despite significant developments in both rider safety and training standards, motorcycle accident statistics remain disprortionately high. Of greater concern than the 20,000 plus accidents that occur each year in the UK are the common denominators, of which a significant percentage can be attributed to rider error.
A vision to reduce serious accidents is the underpinning philosophy of VideoBiker. The goal is to help riders to ‘keep it on the black stuff’ and to influence this through video based training resources that both complement and enhance instructor-led motorcycle training. VideoBiker is the UK’s first and only 100% video based motorcycle training resource. With a focus on learner (CBT), Direct Access, Module One and Module Two, online memberships give convenient access to over 150 videos and a wealth of other motorcycle training resources.

Widows Sons MBA Southern Chapter (part of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association UK & Ireland) has nominated DocBike as one of their two ‘chosen charities’ for 2018 and will be completing a Summer 2018 charity event in aid of DocBike. In addition, Widows Sons MBA Southern Chapter have also generously volunteered to donate their ‘unallocated collections’ between March and July. This support is a significant boost for DocBike during 2018 and the team are very grateful.
The Widows Sons serve to raise money for charitable causes, raise Masonic awareness while attending public motorcycling events and support their regular Lodges in whatever capacity they are able. The Widows Sons is an International Association which is open to all Freemasons who enjoy motorcycling and have a desire to ride with and associate with their fraternal brothers. [more]
